Donghai Thermal Power Plant, a private fire power self-supply thermal station invested and established by Nanshan Aluminum, is located in Nanshan Donghai Industrial Park, which is adjacent to the Bohai Sea. It is the key link of the production chain of coal, electricity and aluminum to supply electricity and heat for the branches of Nanshan Aluminum such as the electrolytic aluminum, carbon and alumina.

Taking the construction of resource-conserving, environment-harmonious society as the core strategy, Donghai Thermal Power takes measures actively to save energy and reduce emission. While constructing the unit, it installed the dust-removal and desulphurization equipment. The desulphurization facility of the first phase adopted the circulating fluidized bed dry flue gas desulphurization technology with the desulphurization efficiency of over 90%; the flue gas desulphurization facility of the second phase adopted the Danish rotary atomizing semi-dry flue gas desulphurization technology with the desulphurization efficiency of over 95%. It has also installed two-level dedusting devices of electric precipitation and bag-type dedusting, and realized the zero-emission of dust and water. Four units all passed the EIA acceptance inspection of the State and Shandong Province.
