Nanshan Scenic Spot Chinese Historical Culture Park is the only large scale theme scenic spot built in chronological sequence from ancient time to Qing Dynasty in China at present, taking historical culture as the longitude and auspicious culture as the latitude, with an area of 6 km2. Supported by Chinese main dynasties’ architectural complexes of different styles in different periods, through large amounts of historical materials and physical goods, it vividly shows the general trends, important cultural relics, significant events and representative figures of Chinese history. To meet requirements of tourism, it also integrates historical culture, auspicious culture, folk custom culture, diet culture and pop culture as a whole, fully exhibits the broad and deep Chinese civilization and splendid national culture, like a vivid general history, being a necessary place for Chinese descendents to appreciate the history progress and men of the time and comprehend Chinese civilization.The Nanshan Jade Buddha Temple in the park consists of Jade Buddha Hall, Medicine Buddha Mandala and Buddhist Relics Hall. The Burma Jade Medicine Buddha in the hall is 13.66m in height and over 660t in weight and is the largest and highest Jade Buddha statue in the country at present. Around the Jade Buddha are six Medicine Buddhas in different color which, with the Jade Buddha, form the seven Medicine Buddhas of the Medicine Buddha Sutra. Inside the park, there are also tropical rain forest plant Park, agricultural science and technology exposition Park, grotto, Kwan-yin cave and tour cable car, etc. In July 2003, the park was nominated “Middle School History Teaching Outdoor Scene” and “Juvenile’s Patriotism Education Base”.
